If you're looking for a SQL Server edition that you can use for free, especially as a developer, you can download the MSDE. You have to use the client tools from any other version of SQL Server (Licensing issues if you don't have those versions) OR you can use Access as the front end using the ADP database type. It allows you nearly full control of SQL Server and provides some pretty good wizards to help you set things up.
The 8.0.194 version of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise is provided as a free download on our website. This software is a product of Microsoft. The most popular version among the software users is 4.1. The software is included in Development Tools. Cliconfg.exe, profiler.exe or svrnetcn.exe are the common file names to indicate this program's installer.
I believe the SQL server keys are universal and not tied to users, and I infer from that that there would be no point in the software calling home to validate.The key is hardcoded into the downloadable ISOs in \x64\DefaultSetup.ini
Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. I finally used the SQL 2008 R2 Enterprise installation instead of the Standard Edition, but entered my standard edition key (which caused it to still install standard edition instead of enterprise), and while it still threw the error, the installer got past it and kept going. Finally I have a successful install!
Fewer times I have been asked if I need to download mount/extract complete ISO to run edition upgrade? Well, here is the trick. Media for all the edition is same. Its the PID which decides which edition to be installed. PID is picked from a file called DefaultSetup.Ini (DVD\x86 or x64 or ia64 folder). It essentially means that you can extract that file from ISO image, run setup of Evaluation media and in below screen type the PID manually.

In order to adequately fulfil specific requirements related to spatial database integration with 3D modeling tools, this paper presents the development of a generic and open system architecture called Web Geological Feature Server (WGFS). WGFS provides direct access through Web services to 3D geological models. WGFS is based on a three-tier architecture: a client (Gocad), an application server (Apache Tomcat and Deegree) and a DBMS (MySQL). This architecture takes advantage of standard-compliant spatial applications such as WFS and GML standards stemming from OGC and spatial schema from ISO TC/211-Geographic Information. Before introducing the architecture and motivations of some geoinformatics choices, we will remind some important issues that have to be taken into account when such development is planned. 2ff7e9595c
